Mr Somo is currently a PhD student at the University of the Western Cape under HySA Systems research division. His PhD degree is based on High entropy hydrogen storage alloys and perspectives of their application in hydrogen storage systems operating at near-ambient temperatures. The work is supervised by Dr Mykhaylo Lototskyy and co-supervised by Dr Moegamat Wafeeq Davids, Dr Serge Nyallang Nyamsi and Prof Volodymyr Yartys. Mr Somo completed his undergraduate and MSc (Chemistry) at University of Limpopo from 2013 to 2019 (2013-15: BSc (physical sciences), 2016: BScHonours (Chemistry) and 2017-19: MSc (Chemistry). The MSc study was focused on hydrogenation kinetics of AB2 and AB5-based metal alloys.
